Protest of the Day: Swiss businessman Guillaume Morand, a non-Muslim, converted the chimney of his company’s building into a minaret — the tall spire found atop Islamic mosques used primarily in the call to prayer — to protest his country’s recently approved ban on the architectural feature.
“It was scandalous that the Swiss voted for the ban, ” Morand told the AFP. “Now we have the support of all the far-right parties across Europe. This is shameful.”
